Chris Torina, COO
Mr. Torina is a seasoned entrepreneur, business owner, C-level executive and former undercover narcotics task force agent and SWAT team operator. He has extensive knowledge and experience in organizational leadership, business management, mergers and acquisitions, live event management, law enforcement operations, content marketing, contract negotiations, capital fundraising and enterprise sales.
In 2006, Mr. Torina founded DeepStacks, one of the most successful gaming and casino entertainment brands in the world. Ten years later and under his leadership, the World Poker Tour acquired DeepStacks and as part, Mr. Torina was retained as the WPT’s first-ever Executive Director.
During his tenure with the WPT, Chris was directly responsible for the rebranding, restructuring and successful relaunch of the World Poker Tour’s European Tour division as well as the successful expansion of live event operations throughout North America and Asia. He is responsible for the acquisition, development and execution of over 300 live events in various markets around the world.
Prior to entrepreneurship, Mr. Torina spent over a decade in law enforcement which included positions as a uniformed patrol deputy, senior undercover narcotics task force agent, Title III case agent, SWAT team operator and an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration. During his career, he was named Veterans of Foreign Wars “Deputy of the Year” and he had the distinct honor of being assigned to the New York Police Department to assist in the security of Manhattan after the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001. For his service, he was awarded letters of commendation by then-Governor of Florida, Jeb Bush and by the NYPD Detectives Endowment Association.
